Life Bombs

they go off, these 'bombs' of life - explosions of reality and realisization ....

not always what we expect, or want, or need - but sometimes more than that...

day began ordinarily enough - then a knock at the door from next door neighbour, ernie, 85 but still fit as a lop - can i come and run iris, his missus, to the surgery, she has had a fall....

when i go in she is quite a state, very upset and bleeding from the head - into the car and zoomed to casualty......

she is in a lot of pain and thinks she has broken her arm too....

left them both in the hands of nurses, and then off to pick up chic and jules on her lunch hour to go and visit relatives over from Oz - they are coming to spend day at me mothers.....

Robert and Maureen.......

My Uncle and Aunt - mam's brother and sister in law.

They emigrated to Oz some 30 years ago - i remember so well

They have been back a couple of times since, and me and jules spent 2 weeks over there late 1999 in their home.

Mam's Uncle John and Aunt Maud here too, and my sis linda, and family, all come to say hi to the wanderers.

Its like time falls away, and like years disappear these moments of reconcilliation.

I know me mother has been chewed up for ages knowing they were coming, now it all dont matter, they arrived and the waiting over.

Me and Robert go to Dipton Working Man's Club - somewhere he spent many an hour in his youth, with his dad, my grandad - drinking 20 pints no probs in those days - coal miners stock....

The wallpaper has changed, but the place hasnt - always this place is haunted by memories and people past - my dad was concert chairman here up til he died.....

Its good, all good, buzzing and hurting, like a longing, an aching, all this memories come alive stuff.

Roberts pal, from scooldays, Mel comes in and they are reunited after 30 years, I am privelege to be in on it to.....

Leave them as they go back to mams, and go and collect iris and ernie from hospital - broken arm and head bandaged up - she has been well looked after and good to get them back to their home.

Ernie big garden man, gives me goodies in the ways of allotment produce, as me and chic nip in later, chic is concerned and needs toknow iris is ok.

So, bob and maureen going off to ireland for a few days, and he is coming backup here for a week or so before they fly back to Oz in a few weeks time.

Promised to take him to the top club with the lads on a friday, and we want to take them out for the day afore they head off home.

So whats these life bombs then?

Not sure! but i think i mean days and moments when you just feel alive.

Events, accidents, meetings, people

Heaven in Ordinary eh?

Back in OZ enjoying the sunshine again.
Still coming to terms whith how little things had changed over there from our prospective yet mindful that the more things change the more they stay the same

Look after our Joan cos she's the only mom your gonna get and make sure that she gets mobile as soon as she can because I think that getting out will make a lot of difference for her

Wanted to post some pictures but don't know how?
